After yesterday's dash to see the Brünnich's Guillemot in Portland Harbour. Photo's below.
Today was spent at Amwell Nature Reserve, Stanstead Abbotts, Herts. A depleted roll call as Barry Reed is away ticking yet more birds in Columbia and Bill Last was off to tick the Brünnich's. Although Alan Reynolds did put in a late appearance, camera in hand.
The Harris Hawk was still present and often up soaring with the local Buzzards. This photo taken on a bright and beautiful Christmas morning.
Marsh Tit is still around the new feeders near Hollycross Pit. Viewable from the Gate to the Dragonfly Trail. Peregrine was again reported but I was not lucky enough to see that. Plenty of Lapwing but no sign of the Redhead Smew today.
A Robin was the star who was loving having his photograph taken, where as the other birds were very camera shy. Also I took a photo of one of the Konic Ponies currently onsite.
The swans were fighting for at least 20 mins, I did think the victor was going to drown the less strong and subordinate Swan. In the end he did escape to fight another day.
Beautiful photos Jay. What a gorgeous sky for the Harris Hawk.
